ps: MBA's and Priority Setting

I've ranted, in private and an article on ChiBus, on the emphasis, the lack thereof actually, of ethics related issues in our curriculum. So, I was really looking forward to a panel discussion organized by NetImpact on campus later today on the theme of Incorporating Social Responsbility into MBA Careers.

Received the customary reminder email this AM for the event, and it included this gem as an addendum:

It'll start exactly at 6:15 (with some food starting at 6:00) in order to allow people to catch most of the college football national championship.

As I told the person who sent the email, it's an interesting commentary on the times (place, actually) we live in. God forbid someday we have to choose between social responsibility and, oh I don't know, making profits. Doesn't make for a hard guess as to which we'll be inclined to move around for convenience, yeah. Just an observation.

I agree that despite social responsibility no one tackles the Real Question.

But what does that have to do with football, which has nothing to do with making profits (for a fan)?

I would give up profits but retain the Eagles.
